This Week: Creating a Morning Ritual that Sets You Up for a Great Day

Published about 1 year ago • 2 min read

Happy Sunday!

I hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for a productive week ahead!

This morning, I'll be showing you how to create a morning routine that sets you up for the day, helping you feel motivated, energized, and clear.

Let's get started.

1. Wake up at the same time every day:

Having a consistent wake-up time can help regulate your body's internal clock and improve the quality of your sleep. Aim to wake up at the same (or similar) time every day, even on weekends. Your body will get used to this routine, making it easier to wake up feeling refreshed and alert each day.

Make this habit much easier by having a somewhat consistent sleep time too and avoiding electronics before bed.

2. Hydrate:

After a long night of sleep, your body needs fuel to kickstart the day. Drink a glass of water with a pinch of salt to start things off. Keep a water bottle handy throughout the day and sip often!

3. Move your body:

Starting your day with some light exercise or stretching can help get your blood flowing and release endorphins that boost your mood and energy levels! Even a quick 10-minute walk around the block can make a big difference.

4. Plan your day:

Take a few minutes in the morning to review your schedule and prioritize your tasks for the day. This will help you stay focused and avoid feeling overwhelmed. By setting 3 or fewer clear priorities, you can manage your time more effectively and get more done in less time.

5. Take time for yourself:

Before diving into your work or daily responsibilities, take a few moments to do something you enjoy. This could be reading a book, meditating, or practicing a hobby. Starting your day with a positive, relaxing activity can help set the tone for the rest of the day. It can also help reduce stress and anxiety.

So, by following these five steps, you can create a morning routine that sets you up for that great day. But remember, a morning routine is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

You should experiment with different activities to find what works best for you. Try adding or removing different elements until you find what makes you feel the best.

That's all from me.

Catch you next Sunday,

- Olly
